Goudey Gum Co. originally manufactured baseball cards to insert with their chewing gum product. The 1933 Goudey Reprint is considered to be the forerunner of today's baseball cards. With a larger area than the original tobacco cards, the 1933 Goudey is similar in size to today's cards. Also, with a comment on each player on the reverse of each card, fans could start to track stats.
